- Description: When certain Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles idle roughly, display a malfunction indicator lamp or set DTCs, the cause might be oil ingress or dirt and carbon buildup in the electronic throttle body. This 100% new Dorman OE FIX body is designed to match the performance of the original part but is upgraded to eliminate those common causes of failure. It features a non-contact Hall effect sensor for increased durability and a proprietary Sensor Shield butterfly shaft seal installed into the throttle body casting. This exclusive additional seal isn't on the original equipment design, and seals the critical area that houses the gear train and electronics, better protecting them from debris and oil intrusion. Note that the installation and calibration of the original equipment or any aftermarket version of this throttle body may require an authorized scan tool that can interact with the secure gateway found on some 2018 and many 2019 and newer Chrysler vehicles. On those vehicles, accessing that gateway requires an authorized encryption code.
